  1. Have a look here.
  2. there are supplements at Petsmart etc that are just for this problem. You can also purchase a small bottle there.
  3. I would go to a local pet store and buy supplemental puppy milk, don't use regular milk it isn't the same. Also get an eye dropper or oral syringe to feed the puppy with. We recently had this happen with a litter of kittens. If you have trouble finding the supplement ask any associate they should be able to help you.
  4. Pull one big puppy away and let the little runt eat. If that doesn't work, look up a pet store that sells doggie milk powder and bottle feed him with that speciel bottle for baby puppies. Then wean him in a little while. He will probably be fatter than the rest of the puppies by the time he gets weaned. :-)
  5. You need to just take one of the normal puppies off a good nipple and put the runt on it. Then watch and make sure its not pushed away. Move the other pushy puppies out of the way until he is done. The runt will fill up quickly because its tummy is smaller. Don't feed the runt something other than its mom's milk. It is made especially for the puppy and has nutrients and antibodies that cows milk will not have. Just be proactive about gettin the runt to a nipple and keepin it there! And don't worry about the big puppies, they'll get their fill.
  6. Separate the mother from the othr pups and let the runt nurse more often. She needs mother's milk, and eventually she'll catch up with the others, but it will atke some effort on your part to insure that there's equality in the nursing times.
  7. milk, usually the mother won't have anything to do with the runt so you need to get a bottle, and feed him milk
  8. You can purchase puppy formula from the vet, or remove the other five puppies and let the runt eat several times a day, however I would suggest doing both.
  9. hold the other puppies away from that one and let her feed seperately. mothers milk is always better than formula.
