What are the chances of having a midget baby?

I think it may be an odd question. But my boyfriend is short like 5'5 and im tiny like 4'11. Is there a chance we will have a midget baby? I pray to god no, and there arent any in my family or his. My mom and dad are also short and my sister is average and my brother too. I came out tiny from them. And will the doctor tell you that during pregnancy?

  1. if u have concerns talk to your doc he can give u the info u need
  2. no he will be tall
  3. <<<What are the chances of having a midget baby?>>> SMALL
  4. omg, i hope you don't have one too...lol!!! but i think something like that is hereditary hunnie, the baby may be short but not a midget.
  5. depends on you and you husbands genetics you can ask them to do a amniocentesis to find out for sure
  6. I'm only 5'2" and my husband is only 5'5". Our babys a little short for her age but perfectly normal. She'll always be a little tiny because both of us are short but she won't be a midget. Your child will probably be the same way--a little short but not a midget.
  7. It is hard to tell, but I would say 10% chance. Since it's 50/50 for boy and girl, and 3.5/3.5/3.5 for preemie, regular and midget. I would tell you hunnie, the chances are that you wont. also i hope you marry your "boyfriend" before you have this baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the kid will be made fun of if u don't ..... ...trust me..........i know.........
  8. do you mean like an actual midget or somebody just short well if the father nor you are midgets then it like a 1 out of a 1,000,000,000.
  9. birthing a midget is usually genetic. if there are none in your families, then most likely they will turn out with your similar heights.
  10. According to the information I have probaby not. Read the information on the PBS website beow. Achondroplasia (one per 26,000 to 40,000 births) SED (one per 95,000 births) Diastrophic dysplasia (one per 110,000 births)
  11. Ummm, if you do have a dwarf child you may want to learn the proper name for it- calling a little person a midget is like calling a black person a n!gger, and I bet you wouldn't do that! Also it tends to be hereditary, so if neither of you have the disorder in your family the chances of your child being born with it are slim to none.
  12. noing your luck it be huge
  13. Just because you're shorter than average doesn't mean you have "midget" genes...just shorter ones. Chances are your kid will be around your heights. Even two dwarf parents only have a 25% chance of having a dwarf child, but two parents who don't have dwarfism have about a 1 in 10000 chance of having a dwarf-sized child.
